Mitch playing at home...

8:40 AM
Sorry I have not been posting any entries, because Mitch is not having her greatest time at all. Some of you may already know, that my precious doggy, Garfield, is fighting against Mast Cell Tumour (MCT), and things ain't looking good. So, we are spending most of our time with him now.

Right, so August is apparently a hectic month. I know many many of you were having a great break during the National Day holidays. But I'm so so busy and stress - cos it's Boyfriend's birthday !!! This is my first birthday with him since he was in Brunei last year. From the bottom of my heart, I really wish to give him a great birthday, I had all the plans lined up.

7 Aug - Pressie for Monthsary
8 Aug - Pizza & Jelly Cake for B'day Celebration with my family (My elder brother had same birthday as him)
9 Aug - National Day
10 Aug - B'day Celebration with his family

Bear with me as I go through these hectic days. So on 7 August, Boyfriend's friends wanted to celebrate his birthday cos we will be busy, so I generously shared our monthsary with them, and made him a small surprise. It is kind of headache what to prepare since Boyfriend is not a branded person, he has high expectations on gadgets, so I practically used my brain juice, just to make this:

No, these ain't your usual agar agar or konnyaku jellies... They are gummy candies. You kidding me?!! Neh, I ain't kidding you. Boyfriend loves gummy, and I always forbid him to buy from candy stores cos they are always too sweet and we are really trying to be healthy. But since it is his birthday, I decided to make him some! XD

It is kind of easy, I can share the recipe later on.

So the start of the holiday is really quite smooth sailing and sweet, however it did not last. Before we went out, my father complained that doggy is limping and he seemed to be in pain since he jumped off my bed the night before. Hence we made plans to bring him to the Vet on 8th Aug. So because of this, I did not managed to make pizza for Boyfriend. Doctor did not find any broken bones or fractures, neither did doggy scream for joint pain or muscle strain. So we were prescribed painkillers and went home. The next day morning, 9th Aug, Boyfriend were supposed to come over and just nua off the day, unexpectedly, his beloved (and my favourite) hamster passed away from cancer as well and I decided to rush off to his place. Before I left, I was trying to apply the usual essential oil on doggy's lumps, he screamed in pain. I was totally shocked. But since it was a PH, I can't find my usual vet. So poor Boyfriend, after I met up with him, he had to hold back his sadness and come back with me. Doggy didn't have any appetite, and he only ate half of what he was usually eating, always lying on the floor, he did not even bark at anyone. If you know what it means when dogs at this stage is suddenly not eating and acting this way, you definitely freak out. Father even cried out very loud that I can hear him in my room. So heart-breaking. True enough, I did not sleep a wink that night (only dozed for 2 hours and woke in fear again), I was really really afraid that my parents would come telling me "hey doggy did not make it!". Fortunately, I prayed really hard, that doggy still came out to pee and eat little of his food. But I fell sick cos I had not enough sleep.. And that night we had a steamboat celebration with Boyfriend's family.

On Wednesday, I rested the whole day in bed to nurse my cold, and managed to bring doggy to the Vet in the evening. Doctor did found the lump to have doubled or even tripled, after much probing and discussion on the new medication, she gave an estimation that doggy may only have 8 - 12 weeks left if we don't explore the new medication (which she also cannot guarantee any results). The remaining couple of days was also total nightmares, because doggy simply loses appetites, that I went to the Vet and get him painkillers for the lumps hoping he could eat better during his last days. I was practically crying all days during the week everytime I think about doggy and talks to the vet about his medications. I even found that the new medication seemed to have many side effects and after discussing with my family, I struggled so hard to decide that we will not try the new medicine.

Until yesterday doggy was still not eating, I did some research and tried some new recipes. I made hard boiled eggs for doggy and luckily he finished it! His appetite was probably triggered by it and ate most of his usual food. I was so happy he gained some energy back and we brought him to the Marina Barrage!!

I hope to create more of such good times for doggy during his last stage of life.

Still unfortunately, perhaps he was too excited and probably stimulated his MCT, he had bloody stools today once. We will still be bringing him back to the Vet on Tuesday. Till these days, I really dread bringing him back and hear bad news. -.-

*Need some strength*
